Shipping & Refund Policy

This policy explains how As You Wood ships orders and how refunds, returns, and cancellations are handled. All products are made to order. By placing an order through asyouwood.com, you agree to the terms set out below.

Shipping Policy

Shipping destinations

We ship to addresses within the contiguous United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or international destinations through standard checkout. For shipment to those destinations, contact us at contact@asyouwood.com before placing an order.

Handling time

Orders are made to order. Handling time is 3 to 7 business days from the date of purchase and varies based on order complexity. Handling time does not include carrier transit time. If an order requires additional time, we will notify you.

Shipping rates

Shipping rates within the contiguous United States are as follows:

  • Orders over $100: free shipping

  • Orders under $100: $15 flat-rate shipping

Carriers

Orders are shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Carrier selection is at our discretion based on order size and destination.

Tracking

Once an order is handed off to the carrier, a tracking number is sent to the email address associated with the order. If you do not receive tracking information or have an issue with it, contact us at contact@asyouwood.com.

Risk of loss and damage in transit

Risk of loss and title pass to the buyer when the order is handed off to the carrier. We are not liable for delays, loss, or damage caused by the carrier. If an order arrives damaged, see “Damaged in transit or wrong item received” below.

Address accuracy

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. Address corrections may be requested within 48 hours of purchase. After that window, we cannot guarantee a free reshipment for delivery failures caused by an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the buyer.

Delays

Delivery timelines may be affected by weather, carrier disruptions, or material availability. We are not liable for delays outside our control. We will communicate any significant delay affecting an order.

Refund Policy

All sales are final

All products are made to order. All sales are final. We do not accept returns or issue refunds except in the specific circumstances described below.

48-hour change window

You may request changes to an order within 48 hours of purchase. Within this window, we can modify engraving text, wood type (subject to availability), and design or dimensions. To request a change, email contact@asyouwood.com with your order number and the requested change. After 48 hours, the order is final and changes cannot be accommodated.

Cancellations

Orders cannot be cancelled after the 48-hour change window has closed.

Circumstances not eligible for a refund or return

The following are not grounds for a refund or return:

  • Change of mind after the 48-hour change window

  • Natural variation in wood grain, color, or knot patterns, which are inherent characteristics of the material and not defects

  • Wood movement, patina, or other changes that occur over time

  • Engraving text that was submitted and approved by the buyer

  • Delivery delays caused by the carrier after handoff

  • Damage resulting from misuse, including dishwasher use, prolonged moisture exposure, or heat exposure

Damaged in transit or wrong item received

If an order arrives damaged or the wrong item is received, you must:

  1. Contact us at contact@asyouwood.com within 7 days of delivery.

  2. Provide your order number, photos of the item, and photos of the packaging (interior and exterior).

  3. Retain the original packaging, which carriers require in order to process a damage claim.

After we receive and review this information, we will provide a resolution — repair, replacement, or refund — based on the circumstances.


Order accuracy

We review each order before production begins. You are responsible for proofreading engraving text and confirming the shipping address before purchase. After the 48-hour change window, we do not provide a free remake for text errors or address information submitted by the buyer.
